About the Artist

F.E. Young has been sculpting since the age of ten when she began with Mexican ceramic-sculptor, Benigno Barron, in Los Angeles, California. The daughter of an archeologist, specializing in the Mayan culture, she grew up with a love of the art of Mexico, Guatamala, Honduras and Peru. Later, as student at UCLA and UCSB, she earned degrees in sculpture, ceramics and Mexican art history.
She has been represented by Gail Feingarten and along with Feingarten Galleries, her solo exhibitions include Robert Weil Graphics and Limited Edition Gallery. She joined three other artists in Boccacio Arts, a studio in Venice, California.
It was later in life that F.E. discovered she could draw. She continues to work in her own studio, now completing a new body of work which combines her love of three dimensional art with her love of drawing.
Her work is firmly grounded and in a deep passion for the art of the many countries and cultures that have come together to create the American aesthetic.
